Yesterday

Yesterday is a story about the underground youth music culture in Lithuania of the 1960s and 70s, – the local beat generation. Banned, persecuted by the KGB and pushed out of sight by the official Soviet system, the young rock pioneers created a distinctive musical culture, through which they spread ideas of freedom, protest and self-expression. They were the ”musical guerrillas” of the time who symbolically took over the resistance from post-war partisan fighters, only in other forms. Firearms were replaced with electric guitars, amps and percussion.
